International Wood Products Ltd. provides timber trading and market services to produces from various parts of the world.
The company has a long history trading New Zealand Radiata Pine, South African Pine, Brazilian Pine, some Brazilian hardwood, Australian Pine, New Zealand Douglas Fir, and a range of manufactured South East Asian hardwood products.
IWP has established relationships with sawmills, timber processors, laminators and re-manufacturers in these countries.
In addition, IWP has built up a network of importers, wholesalers and timber processors and manufacturers in Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
This collection of suppliers and buyers enables IWP to provide accurate and up to date market information, sales and promotional services to wood product producers looking to develop opportunities in new markets.
Equally, the company is able to provide manufacturers in these markets with timber purchasing services, quality inspections, shipping consolidation and technical information on lumber or manufactured goods.
The Environment
IWP has made the policy decision to trade only in products that are "Environmentally sound". This means that the company will only trade with buyers and sellers who are genuinely committed to responsible forestry practices. Ideally the company prefers to handle products that are from FSC certified origins. However, at present it believes it is unrealistic to expect all suppliers to be FSC certified as there is far greater demand and production than there are certified sources. IWP will therefore work with suppliers who can clearly show they are on a course to achieve environmental certification within a reasonable time frame. Where a sound and reputable certification is not immediatly available the company will accept evidence of Verified Legal Origin (VLO) as the minimum standard. |
